It allows you to keep your arms folded in a restrained position, preventing unwanted movement.
For many people, the bent arm position is considerably more comfortable for longer than the crossed position of a classic straitjacket. The fit can be adjusted as desired using the drawstrings on the arm pockets.

With the zippers on the arms left open, the jacket can also be worn as a decorative garment. The increased freedom of movement can then be restricted again at any time by folding the arms in and closing the zippers.
